Masala Awards 2017

December 28, 2017

My love for the Bollywood film industry has been turbulent all my life. I was blindly in love as a teenager with movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohobbatein and DDLJ. Then I got skeptical and too cool for school and shunned it for a while. Nowadays, I am having a Bollywood renaissance – I like GOOD movies and great stories … ones that are less filmi with more substance. “Masala” is a Dubai based magazine that centers around Bollywood celebrity gossip, music, TV and local socialites. Every year they host “The Masala Awards” highlighting South Asian talent. This year […]

Skincare and makeup picks of 2017

December 18, 2017

When I was younger, I wasn’t really into makeup. Just a quick eyeliner swipe and boom I was done. Now that I’m a bit…. older (gulp) gone are the days of being negligent because pigmentation, dry patches and some fine lines have graced their presence. No biggie, though… just a few adjustments to my routine. I have done A LOT of experimenting so you don’t have to. Bear in mind, my skin type is dehydrated and prone to dry patches. I’m also sensitive not only in nature but in skin type too! If you have similar issues, read on … […]

December 16, 2017

My favorite part of asian weddings are definitely mehendis. Bejeweled color schemes, catchy Bollywood music, the dances and festive decor – I love it all! It’s so easy to look GREAT at the gym when you have a peachy, insta-worthy butt and pancake-flat abs BUT what if your body is “under construction?” Here are some non slobby ideas for the gym. This actually took me a while to figure out, so I hope this guide is helpful for you. 1. All about the drape with a lil bit of shape Decide which parts of your body you currently like RIGHT NOW. October 11, 2017

Have you ever been really disappointed with the results of getting outfits made by a tailor?
