When I was younger, I wasn’t really into makeup. Just a quick eyeliner swipe and boom I was done. Now that I’m a bit…. older (gulp) gone are the days of being negligent because pigmentation, dry patches and some fine lines have graced their presence. No biggie, though… just a few adjustments to my routine. I have done A LOT of experimenting so you don’t have to. Bear in mind, my skin type is dehydrated and prone to dry patches. I’m also sensitive not only in nature but in skin type too! If you have similar issues, read on …
When it comes to skincare, I always find that French or Korean products are the BEST. Korean products are my favorite because they’re generally more affordable and are the most hydrating while still being gentle on the skin.
Weirdly, snail essence has become a staple. It sounds gross but admit it… you ARE curious. It’s a gel that is a bit gooey but it’s scentless, I promise. My favorite is from Mizon and their snail ampoule is a cult favorite.
For toners, I love The Face Shop’s first serum from “The Therapy” line. It’s a blend of Essential Oils and it has many perks including hydration and gentle exfoliation. It’s pricier than I would like but I bought this a few months ago and it’s really great under makeup and gets rid of any patches and flakyness over time and it generally makes your skin seem more supple.
The BEST mask and exfoliant I have come across is Skinfood’s rice mask. This is the BEST exfoliant for sensitive skin and it also is great for brightening. Sometimes I just chill with this on and watch a few episodes on Netflix and my face legit feels like a baby’s ASS. It’s really satisfying to scrub it off too. There’s loads of product in this tub so I love that.
I know I said I loved Huda Beauty’s faux filter as a foundation but I changed my mind. I still love it but now I use it more as a spot concealer on my trouble areas. It’s super effective, especially around the eyes – but using it all over can look really cakey and heavy so it’s best to use it with a light hand and tinted moisturizer for a natural look.
I also am obsessed with magnetic lashes I got from Global Village. As soon as you enter the China pavillion, there’s a massive eyelash shop and that’s where I found these babies. I am never wearing mascara again. I argued until I got them for 30 aed. You’re welcome.
For sunscreen, I love asian brands and this one is my fave. It’s a gel so it sinks right in and you can get stock up from Amazon.
Lastly, for touch ups, I loooove Pakistani brand Nabila’s zero makeup kit. There’s a corrector, concealer, blush lipstain AND powder all in one handy dandy palette. This is the ONLY palette I use and it gives a lovely, natural fresh faced look and it’s amazingly practical.
That’s all. Disclaimer – no one has paid me squat for this ..I paid for them all with my own moolah. I haven’t got that many followers to get tonnes of free stuff so you can trust me! These are my actual opinions.
