Feelin’ “Racy” at the Luxury Closet

March 22, 2016

It’s a really exciting time in Dubai right now with Art Week going on and Fashion Forward just around the corner BUT sandwiched right in the middle of all this chicness are the Meydan Races. Extravagant hats and luxurious fashion always get MY pulse racing! I was really excited to draw live for The Luxury Closet’s horse race themed afternoon tea at their headquarters. The mood was set with vintage postcards, award ribbons, flamboyant headpieces and of course, lots and lots of couture. They even had little “grass” lawns which gave such an adorable ambiance. Here’s a few photos of […]

Introducing the Wanderlust Collection

March 17, 2016

For the LONGEST time now, I have been dreaming of starting my own label. I wanted to combine art and fashion and find a way to transform my paintings into eye-catching and striking YET very wearable and flattering textile prints. I have always loved designers that have a feminine, sophisticated flair like Kate Spade and Alice and Olivia and I have an appreciation for bold, graphic Scandinavian designers such as Marimekko. I love sweet, quirky prints that tell a story. In fact, I’m DRAWN to them (hyuk hyuk) I finally found a way of digitally printing my paintings onto fabric […]

What Kind of Dubai Trend Are You?

February 16, 2016

I love how in Dubai, you can never be too overdressed no matter WHERE you go. For a girl like me who loves to play dress up – that is an advantage. This city is so full of interesting characters and trends that I thought it would be fun to illustrate some of the fads and styles I’ve spotted just for a comical post. The Bruncher’s uniform is almost always a brightly colored, uncomfortably tight Herve Leger bandage dress. The look is adorned with an impeccable backcombed blow dry. Brunchers totter around in 7 inch stilettos no matter what time […]

Treasure Trove Trunk Show

February 2, 2016

Valentine’s day is around the corner and even though that’s exciting, what really makes MY pulse quicken and weak in the knees is some breathtaking art! EVEN better if it’s an unconventional exhibition liiiiiike a pop up for instance. It’s no secret that I have a penchant for Pakistani art and after browsing through Instagram, I learned that Treasure Trove is hosting a special trunk show at Ensemble on the 13th of February. Just like their name suggests, the event IS indeed a treasure trove consisting of limited edition paintings by renowned artists, ornate tapestries as well as unique, hand […]

When Harry met Sally

January 14, 2016

So in my last post, I introduced you to my friend Rania. In the spirit of over-sharing on social media, let me introduce you guys to my new fiancĂ©. Salman Qureshi is one of the pioneers of stand up comedy in Dubai. As well as stand up, he is an improviser, actor, writer and producer and has performed with international artists such as Saad Haroon, Maz Jobrani and Max Amini. So as my Grandad once asked me, how DID Harry meet Sally?!I Actually, I met him through my sister. She had been friends with him for years hogging his hilariousness […]

Picnic at Mushrif Park

December 16, 2015

Let me introduce you to this adorable girl I know, Rania. Editor of the blog “The Blush Diaries”, Rania writes about lifestyle, beauty and fashion. She has an eye for aesthetics, interiors and colors and it is certainly evident when scrolling through her gorgeous Instagram feed. Rania’s style is unashamedly girly and she often sports pretty pastels hues (although she often takes a walk on the wild side! No one can rock a leather black skirt or green tropical prints quite like this one!) Lately she’s become a good brunch buddy of mine. Other than her fabulous company, she is […]
