Charles and Keith Curates

June 3, 2017

Social media gets a whole lot of flak … apparently it can make you isolated, shallow and reclusive BUT I disagree. I love how social media can be used for connecting people all over the world and allow you to take part in some amazing opportunities. That’s exactly what happened this month with the Charles and Keith Curates campaign. The trendy accessories brand launched a special digital campaign. They selected artists from all over the world to document fashion through creativity. The campaign highlighted the works of different individuals from all walks of life who inspired them with their artistry […]

Bloomies Bags n’ more

February 15, 2017

I can’t explain the adrenaline of working on something really BIG! Bloomingdales, the famous department store from New York is synonymous with luxury – everything from their cakes to their sophisticated shoe department. They have a fabulous creative team here in Dubai and are one of my favorite clients. We wanted to work together on a number of artistic projects so here is a play by play of what I’ve been up to! I illustrated my first “little brown bag” sometime in 2015, after my promotional book for Ramadan. They wanted a fashionable and colorful bag depicting the Dubai store […]

Nailing’ it with Essie

October 26, 2016

Frankly, I don’t like regular nail polish – gel is perfect for someone fidgety like me. I find that whenever I get a manicure with regular polish, no matter HOW still and zombie-like I hold my hands out … rest assured, there is always, always a smudge. The only major bummer about gel is the tedious waiting time. This has become a thing of the past thanks to Essie who have combined the best of both products and have launched their new “gel couture” range. It acts like gel in terms of the look, feel and durability BUT it’s actually […]

Loosening up with Jacqueline Bissett

August 1, 2016

I think the moment I fell in love with fashion illustration was when I first laid eyes on the amazing, glamorous illustrations sketched on Jackie Collin’s book covers. They were always so feminine, fluid and loose with a modern, minimalistic pop of color that was so eye catching to me! These drawings had such personality, sass and drama – a perfect match to the seductive and sexy stories I was addicted to! Over the years, I started recognizing the same illustrations everywhere on luxury brands like Thomas Sabo, Selfridges and Mac. Last week, in a perfect twist of fate, I […]

Summer studio workshop at Harvey Nichols

July 8, 2016

I love to teach illustration but don’t always get the opportunity due to being swamped with projects buuuuut when Harvey Nichols approached me and asked me to be part of their Summer Studio line up, I couldn’t resist! This Summer, Harvey Nichols Dubai had a series of interactive workshops which included photography, fashion and styling. If the classes weren’t enticing enough, all guests who attended each received a AED200 complimentary voucher to use in the store’s Beauty Department..AND the classes were free! Pretty great trade off if you ask me. Nice one, Harvey Nichs. I hosted two workshops in June and […]

The Cubist Collection

May 29, 2016

I love impressionism, Rococco and Art Nouveau BUT when it comes translating a movement into contemporary fashion – there’s NOTHING cooler than the abstract, trippy designs of cubism. Inspired by Picasso and Sadequain’s paintings, I created a mini collection that is bold, brazen, youthful and a bit bohemian. Even though the pieces are flamboyant and colorful, the translucent quality of the chiffon make the pieces easy to wear and versatile – particularly the kaftans. Perfect if you want to stand out at fashion shows, parties, music festivals or even thrown over ripped jeans for a beachy weekend brunch. To accessorize […]
