Charles and Keith Curates

June 3, 2017

Social media gets a whole lot of flak … apparently it can make you isolated, shallow and reclusive BUT I disagree. I love how social media can be used for connecting people all over the world and allow you to take part in some amazing opportunities. That’s exactly what happened this month with the Charles and Keith Curates campaign. The trendy accessories brand launched a special digital campaign. They selected artists from all over the world to document fashion through creativity. The campaign highlighted the works of different individuals from all walks of life who inspired them with their artistry […]

Fashion tips for when you feel “meh”

April 25, 2017

We all know that every body is beautiful and there is no “ideal” figure…it’s all about self esteem yada yada yada but no matter how body positive you are, at some point you MIGHT feel stuck in a rut and “meh.” Maybe it’s after having a baby or monthly bloating or putting on the dreaded “Dubai stone” after moving here. With your extra unfamiliar lbs, you grab the first baggy shirt and look wistfully at cute summer dresses with a dose of self loathing about your lack of willpower. Sound familiar? What if I told you that you could wear […]

Hello, is it me you’re looking for?

March 9, 2017

It’s not everyday you get asked to be in a feature for Hello – so when the writers asked if I would be interested, I was like…errr…hello!?!?!?! Of course i would!!! Jokes aside, I was thrilled to be included in their vibrant “Girls about Town” article. It was all about women from Dubai making waves in the creative industry from different disciplines. There was a great mix of careers from acting to fitness and we were all brought together for our mutual love for fashion and couture. The shoot was styled by Rao Ali Khan who is a celebrity stylist […]

Fashion Forward SS17

November 12, 2016

I love Fashion Forward but I have to say – this year was my favorite! It was a bit more special for me because I got to bring my soon to be husband Salman into my fashion world. He was a bit bewildered, much like a deer in headlights with the standard 2 hour queue for Amato’s show but other than that he quite enjoyed it. Here are a few highlights, illustrations and details of what I wore. Lets start with some jaunty, nautical menswear shall we? Inspired by the beauty of the ocean, Varoin Marwah translated waves into geometrical […]

Float like a Butterfly, Stun like a bee.

September 15, 2016

I was always apprehensive about shopping online. You always hear about these horror stories on Buzzfeed about Chinese knock offs, unflattering fits and gross, static material. You know what they say though – if the bitter ain’t bitter, the sweet ain’t as sweet. In other words, there are some GREAT treasures out there to discover in this world wide web of ours and don’t let the odd crappy item discourage your efforts! I’ve found AMAZING items in the most unlikely of places such as Souq.com, which is bizarrely great for luxurious, designer inspired heels. While I was in Scotland, I […]

The Cubist Collection

May 29, 2016

I love impressionism, Rococco and Art Nouveau BUT when it comes translating a movement into contemporary fashion – there’s NOTHING cooler than the abstract, trippy designs of cubism. Inspired by Picasso and Sadequain’s paintings, I created a mini collection that is bold, brazen, youthful and a bit bohemian. Even though the pieces are flamboyant and colorful, the translucent quality of the chiffon make the pieces easy to wear and versatile – particularly the kaftans. Perfect if you want to stand out at fashion shows, parties, music festivals or even thrown over ripped jeans for a beachy weekend brunch. To accessorize […]
