Charles and Keith Curates

June 3, 2017

Social media gets a whole lot of flak … apparently it can make you isolated, shallow and reclusive BUT I disagree. I love how social media can be used for connecting people all over the world and allow you to take part in some amazing opportunities. That’s exactly what happened this month with the Charles and Keith Curates campaign. The trendy accessories brand launched a special digital campaign. They selected artists from all over the world to document fashion through creativity. The campaign highlighted the works of different individuals from all walks of life who inspired them with their artistry […]

Fashion Forward SS17

November 12, 2016

I love Fashion Forward but I have to say – this year was my favorite! It was a bit more special for me because I got to bring my soon to be husband Salman into my fashion world. He was a bit bewildered, much like a deer in headlights with the standard 2 hour queue for Amato’s show but other than that he quite enjoyed it. Here are a few highlights, illustrations and details of what I wore. Lets start with some jaunty, nautical menswear shall we? Inspired by the beauty of the ocean, Varoin Marwah translated waves into geometrical […]

Feelin’ “Racy” at the Luxury Closet

March 22, 2016

It’s a really exciting time in Dubai right now with Art Week going on and Fashion Forward just around the corner BUT sandwiched right in the middle of all this chicness are the Meydan Races. Extravagant hats and luxurious fashion always get MY pulse racing! I was really excited to draw live for The Luxury Closet’s horse race themed afternoon tea at their headquarters. The mood was set with vintage postcards, award ribbons, flamboyant headpieces and of course, lots and lots of couture. They even had little “grass” lawns which gave such an adorable ambiance. Here’s a few photos of […]

Treasure Trove Trunk Show

February 2, 2016

Valentine’s day is around the corner and even though that’s exciting, what really makes MY pulse quicken and weak in the knees is some breathtaking art! EVEN better if it’s an unconventional exhibition liiiiiike a pop up for instance. It’s no secret that I have a penchant for Pakistani art and after browsing through Instagram, I learned that Treasure Trove is hosting a special trunk show at Ensemble on the 13th of February. Just like their name suggests, the event IS indeed a treasure trove consisting of limited edition paintings by renowned artists, ornate tapestries as well as unique, hand […]

Maserati one of 100

November 22, 2015

A few months ago, I was lazing around in my pyjamas at a time of day that was SO late in the afternoon, that I’m embarrassed to even specify when! I was at home channel surfing, eating spaghetti hoops and just generally having a chilled out, uneventful day when the doorbell rang. I opened it and to my astonishment, I was greeted by a glamorous, statuesque looking woman in a ball gown and dapper man in a tuxedo. It sounds like one of those bizarre dreams in which random, surreal things happen that make no sense … BUT it wasn’t […]

Painting the town glitter with Swarovski

November 16, 2015

Last week I felt just like Holly Golightly, except I wasn’t having breakfast at Tiffany’s but brunch with Swarovski. It was for a first-of-its-kind Sparkling Couture exhibition, celebrating the brand’s long-standing relationship with regional and international couture designers. The event showcased exquisite collections by 35 couturiers and six jewelry and accessory labels from across the Middle East and South Asia. Each designer presented one piece, created exclusively for the event, highlighting their innovative use of Swarovski crystals. First, the press were guided into a large room with a lit up installation consisting of a selection of sparkling designer dresses. I […]
