Anti-slob gym outfit ideas

It’s so easy to look GREAT at the gym when you have a peachy, insta-worthy butt and pancake-flat abs BUT what if your body is “under construction?”

Here are some non slobby ideas for the gym. This actually took me a while to figure out, so I hope this guide is helpful for you.

1. All about the drape with a lil bit of shape

Decide which parts of your body you currently like RIGHT NOW. I really think loose, drapey tops look great paired with tight leggings and it’s a look that suits MOST people. After all, have you ever heard of anyone with fat shoulders? Instead of a typical activewear look, I like to look at modern dancewear for inspiration for a flashdance look! Pineapple dance studio wear is great for a reference for that feminine, dancer-off-duty look.

Look for subtle little sexy details that you can pull off.

Subtle can be sexy. I like cheeky little cut outs and strappy little details like this. Knotted tops and pretty flouncy sleeves can also look really nice too.

2. Get leggy

Long leggings that end at the ankle are generally a more flattering look – it elongates your shape and stretches you out. If you are self conscious of your thighs – simply go for a longer, looser top. You can also experiment with printed leggings if you are into that look.

3. Make sports bras an accessory as well as a necessity

Your bra needn’t be a bulky, beige miserable looking thing – instead, go for contrasting, fun colors and cool straps that co-ordinate with the rest of your tops. You could choose maybe 2 or three colors for your gym wear so that everything is an interchangeable color scheme for ease. If all else fails, just go black.

4. Frugal fitness Lastly, I absolutely HATE spending money on gym clothes. It hurts me. Some stuff is insanely priced and frankly, I’d rather spend that cash on a beautiful pair of shoes. New Yorker, Forever 21, Maxx fashion and even Carrefour are great places to find some soft, feminine tees and leggings – bear in mind it doesn’t have to be under the “activewear” category to be suitable just keep an eye out!

Now you may go forth dressed in all your new finery and hustle for that muscle!!!
